This water filter is made of activated carbon coal - coconut shell. Designed for effective filtration levels to remove pesticides, chlorine (chlorine / chlorine), remove odors, and impurities above 5 microns. It is good at filtering out bacteria such as giardia & cryptosporidium which cause diarrhea
